A downloadable Pocketzine RPG
Free Community Copies Will Always Be Available
5 Million Worlds: An Avatar's Primer is the player's guide to transhuman space adventure. 5MW RPG is a PANIC Engine system, a hack based on Mothership RPG turns Stress into Limit, a valuable asset.
Use Limit points to improve your character during downtime, or when rolling a Limit Check, choose to spend your Limit and roll on the Limit Break table for a boon that could save you and your crew during a bad situation.
You and your crew of anti-fascist agitators explore strange new star systems, and meet fascinating new cultures of different peoples. You'll make first contact, explore technological marvels, ancient ruins and alien wilderness, build communities, and topple the tyrants who aim to control anyone they can.
Roll or choose from one of five Minds:
- Anarchists are thrifty talkers. Punk diplomats, admin agitators, they slink into new places to disrupt, and not always for the good of the people.
- Savants are geniuses beyond the other Minds' ken, able to grok Serpent tech. But when their universal model falters, they put everyone at risk.
- Gearheads are hardy fix-it folk. Their handiwork can come in clutch, but their hyperfocus can put them and their companions in sticky situations.
- Esoterics are strange, even to their own kind. They excel at tasks of quantitative science or matters of deep instinct, but their presence irks those around them.
- Brusiers are fighters undergoing reform, yet still skilled in Violence. Their aggressive past emerges under duress, making matters worse.
And roll or choose from one of five Forms:
- Trads. Basic humans. Your people or ancestors were too proud and chose to remain in a Form ill-adapted to space.
- Emulants. Synthetic humans. Your people's freedom varies in 5MW space, as ancient machine mind hatred still lives on.
- Loopers. Low-G space-dwelling transhumans, hands in place of feet, your people are near-ubiquitous in interplanetary societies.
- Fleshers. Biotech-birthing transhumans, your people have adapted to live in flesh hives on otherwise inhospitable worlds.
- Visards. Cybermodded transhumans, your people wear a complex AR neural interface that covers all but your jaw.
5MW RPG already has several free adventures and settings available, and is intended for use with any science fiction ttrpg module.

Do we still need Mothership 1e Rulebook for this, Chris?
Hello!
Having the 1e Mothership PSG (player's handbook) wouldn't hurt, to get an idea of equipment and special conditions and such, but it's not at all required.
The 1e PSG is free/pwyw, and it's out now, :)
Hi, I'm just wondering if the A5 version is still in the works.
Yes, I'm working on the player's guide for a February release!
The new character generator has a new class (changed to Mind), ten Forms with Loadouts, and a d100 Past Life table.
The book will be text only for now (maybe my goofy and bad illustrations). I'm thinking about doing a Zine Month itchfund to pay for professional art, and continuing work on character advancement.
Great, I've printed out the pocketzine onto A4, cut and folded it down to pocketsize.
Love being able to do that for a game.
Some interesting nuggets in there, like Serpentware!
I trust a character sheet is in the works too.
Thanks! More nuggets in the upcoming zine, too, including some info about the Serpents, :)
I must admit that layout design is not my biggest strength, haha, so I've got the character sheet on the backburner for the Zine Month itchfund!
Decided not to rush this. Updates are coming, but with a fully fleshed out chargen procedure.
